Parish Share

take responsibility | be generous | have faith

Parish Share is the common pot of money used to support ministry and mission across the Diocese of Bristol. By giving through Parish Share, every church is embodying biblical principles.

We are taking responsibility for the support and ministry we receive, being generous to others because God is so generous to us, and having faith that God will provide all we need for His mission.

Take responsibility

We are not disparate churches working in isolation – across the Diocese of Bristol we are closely connected with each other. We are united in our desire to see the Church grow and see God’s Kingdom come. As well as sharing in the fruits of God’s Kingdom, we also share the responsibility to resource it.

Give generously

If we are to raise the funds needed to train future ministers and lay leaders, support existing ones, and invest in Christian schools then we need to follow the Early Church’s example and live more generously, holding everything in common to the glory of God.

Have faith

We believe in God’s great plan to see His Kingdom come. And we believe that He equips us with the resources we need in our ministry. As we consider our Parish Share commitments, we do so with faith.

What can you do?

Your Parish Share request holds more information about the context and expectation of your individual parish.

  • Prayerfully discuss your Parish Share request as a PCC, considering what it means for you to give generously to our shared ministry. If you’d like support in this discussion, a dedicated team of lay and clergy are on hand to accompany you in these discussions. Contact Clare (see below) if you’d like to book a meeting.
  • Contact Clare Fussell, Giving and Resources Adviser, if you'd like to discuss stewardship or Parish Share issues in your parish's context. Email clare.fussell@bristoldiocese.org or call 0117 906 0100.

Thank you for your support of mission and ministry across this diocese and for playing your part in our diocesan vision ‘Creating connections’.
