Rural Giving Day

First published 7th May 2020

UPDATE - This is POSTPONED but we very much to hope to hold it later in the year. Meanwhile, do contact naomi.buckler@bristoldiocese.org if you have any stewardship queries.

Hosted by North Wiltshire Deanery
Tuesday 24 March 10.am to  2.30pm at St Mary’s Hullavington.

This day is for anyone in rural churches, who wants to increase or stabilise their church income. Aimed at clergy, treasurers, churchwardens, and anyone else with an involvement in church finance.

Archdeacon Christopher Bryan will talk about how to engage a rural church and its community in giving, using real-life examples and his experience of a being parish priest. He’ll talk about both the challenges and the opportunities. We also hope to give you the chance to learn from each other and to share what has worked (and what hasn’t) in your own parishes.

During the day we will cover the theology of giving, as well as provide very practical advice on using the Parish Giving Scheme’s new community leaflet, the best way to ask for legacies, stewardship in a rural context, and also give you the chance to have a play with the newest contactless giving devices.

We’ll be meeting 10am to 2.30pm. Lunch included, so booking is essential: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/rural-giving-day-tickets-94360491771.
