Special weekend of ordination celebrations for our Priests and Deacons!

The Rt Revd Vivienne Faull, Bishop of Bristol ordained 18 candidates as Priests and Deacons at Bristol Cathedral last weekend in two very moving celebrations.

Family and friends gathered to mark this key moment in the life and ministry of those to be ordained. 

Candidates ordained as Priests on Saturday 2 July at 3 pm at Bristol Cathedral were as follows:-

  • The Revd Josh Bradshaw     
  • The Revd Caroline Buckland 
  • The Revd Anton Campbell
  • The Revd Melanie Griffiths
  • The Revd Ruth Harding
  • The Revd Nic Harris
  • The Revd Sarah Matthews
  • The Revd Wanda Morris
  • The Revd Diane Simms
  • Sadly Revd Christopher Hunter couldn't attend as he tested positive for covid and his ordination will take place later this year.

Candidates ordained as Deacons on Sunday 3 July at 10:30 am were as follows:

  • Sharon Gleed 
  • Sarah Heywood
  • Sonia Home
  • Eleanor Huggins   
  • Regan Meares
  • Rosemary Radcliffe 
  • Julie Summer
  • Ben Thompson
  • Sadly Wayne Cullen couldn't attend as he tested positive for covid and his ordination will take place later this year. 

The Revd Dr Simon Taylor, Director of Ministry Development at the Diocese of Bristol said, "'It’s exciting to see so many people responding to God’s call to ordained ministry.  Both ordination ceremonies were extremely moving.  Please continue to pray for those who were ordained as they begin their ministries.  Please pray also for the communities they will serve, and their Training Incumbents."
