The Rt Revd Vivienne Faull, Bishop of Bristol is delighted to announce that Revd Tim Jones has been appointed as Vicar of St Philip and St Jacob with Emmanuel Bristol (Central) in City Deanery:

“I am thrilled that Tim is joining us to serve the people of Central and the community at the heart of our vibrant and diverse city. Tim brings a heart for evangelism and reaching people with the Good News of the Gospel. Working with Central, its people, the churches in City Deanery and other partners, Tim can be part of the big and positive impact Christian mission is having on Bristol.”

Tim will be Licensed by Bishop Viv on Thursday 19th October 2023 at Central Church.

Reverend Tim Jones says:

“I am honoured to have been appointed as the Vicar of Central Church, and I’m excited to be joining the church family so that we can help the people of Bristol to follow Jesus. His gospel is good news and its His strength I’m seeking in this new role.

I’ll be moving to Bristol from Clapham in South London, where I have been working at Holy Trinity Clapham for the past 7 years as an Ordinand then a Curate. Before training for ordination I worked for a Building Society in Bournemouth then as a worship pastor in West London.

I’m passionate about people encountering Jesus and want to help them to bear fruit for Him in their lives, just as God calls us to do (John 15). I’m looking forward to opening the Bible together, seeking God together in worship and prayer, reaching out to Bristol together in the power of the Spirit, and much much more.

God has been at work at Central Church over many years, and I am praying that in this new chapter  we will see His Kingdom come as we play our part in God’s church in the city. I am praying for you all and can’t wait to get to know you more! God Bless.”
