Young people, drugs and alcohol...

Substance misuse among under-18s in the UKis always a cause for concern with stories of teenagers drinking alcohol, smoking cannabis, or using drugs never far from the headlines.

Drug use is asignificant problem becauseit can affect a young person'shealth and wellbeing, their education, their family life, their security and their future.

To help youth workers understand this complex issue, VolTrain havearranged a FREE training evening in Bristol led by BDP (Bristol Drugs Project) whowilllead an introductory session on drug and alcohol awareness for youth leaders/volunteers working insecular and faith-based settings.

VolTrain is a partnership between several organisations, including Bristol City Council, to equip, resource and train volunteer youth workers in the Bristol area. It is open to all volunteer youth workers across both statutory and voluntary sectors and is completely free.
