Will Fairbairn commissioned as Co-Area Dean for Bristol City Deanery

The Diocese of Bristol is pleased to share that the Revd Will Fairbairn has been commissioned as Co-Area Dean for the Bristol City Deanery.

Revd Will was commissioned by the Rt Revd Neil Warwick, Acting Bishop of Bristol and Bishop of Swindon at Hillside House on Monday 12 January. Will will serve as Co-Area Dean alongside the Revd Kat Campion-Spall, Rector of the Bristol Harbourside Churches.

Since 2020 Will has been the Vicar of Redland Church in Bristol, a growing community committed to inviting and equipping people to know Jesus and be His presence of renewal in the City. Previously, he has served as curate of Ascension Church in Southampton and as student pastor as Highfield Church Southampton.

Speaking about his new role, Will said:

“I’m looking forward to serving as Co-Area Dean alongside Kat, supporting our Deanery in mission, pastoral care and growth. I’m excited about collaborating with churches, supporting them and their clergy, to ensure we have healthy churches that are growing and thriving in every sense.”

Speaking about the Deanery, Kat Said:

“I’m really delighted to be working with Will to serve Bristol City Deanery together as Co-Area Deans. Our Deanery covers the vibrant, diverse heart of the wonderful city of Bristol, and our churches are as diverse as our contexts.  Will and I are committed to nurturing relationships across the Deanery to support our colleagues to work together across different contexts and church traditions, united in our call to sharing God’s transformational love in our communities.”

Please join us in praying for Will, Kat and the Bristol City Deanery as they serve and share the love of God with others.
