Here are five, easy, accessible ways for you and your church to engage with Thy Kingdom Come this year:

Prayer and Care

It has been heartening to see how people have shown love and kindness, serving and loving the most vulnerable, during this unprecedented time. This year as we pray for those we know and love to become followers of Jesus, how might we also demonstrate this in deed (in keeping with social distancing guidelines)?

This could be as simple as praying, asking God, 'Who do you want me to connect with today', and then calling or messaging that person to ask 'how are you?'. Who knows where these spirit-led conversations might lead.

Digital resources

Digital resources have been produced to support you during Thy Kingdom Come:

  • The Prayer Journal with reflections, Bible verses and actions, particularly suitable for young people.
  • The incredible Family Prayer Adventure Map includes additional Augmented Reality bonus features that can be accessed through a new bespoke Family Prayer Adventure app!
  • Thy Kingdom Come app, is available in 6 languages from your mobile phone app store.
  • Customisable, Thy Kingdom Come promotional videos can be produced with your church details on them and then downloaded and added to your social media or livestreams!

24/7 Prayer / Continuous Prayer

Perhaps you could create a virtual prayer room for your church, small group or friendship group.
24-7prayer have provided the functionality for you to set up an online prayer room here.
You can also find resources for this at the TKC continuous prayer page here.

Pray Together at regular times

Praying for people to come to know the love, hope and peace found in Christ is at the heart of Thy Kingdom Come. Could your church set up regular, daily patterns of prayer (via conference call or Zoom / Skype) to hold these people in prayer or adapt existing morning and evening prayer times to do so? Or quite simply, you could commit to saying the Lord’s Prayer at a particular time of day.

The Thy Kingdom Come daily prayer resource which could help is available here.

Light up the World in Prayer

Jesus Christ is the light of the world and we are called to be the light of the world as we bear His image.

On the Thy Kingdom Come website, there is a ‘Light up the world’ feature with a whole suite of resources to equip you / your church to encourage others to pray and shine their light.

One of the activities there, is a map of the world, as each individual, family and church commits to pray, lights populate the map. Will you play your part, as we pray for the light of Christ to penetrate the darkness across the globe?
