The Revd Trevor Day RIP

It is with sadness that the Diocese of Bristol announces the death of the Revd Trevor Martin Day on 12 February 2026, following a period of illness.

Trevor was a Licensed Lay Minister at Christ Church Swindon from 2007. He was ordained deacon in Bristol Cathedral in June 2012 and priested a year later. Trevor was licensed as Assistant Curate in the villages of Broad Blunsdon, Highworth, Sevenhampton and Inglesham from 2012-2015. For the last decade Trevor ministered as Assistant Priest in West Swindon and Lydiard Tregoze.

In addition, Trevor served as a Chaplain in a range of contexts: as a Minor Canon and Day Chaplain in Bristol Cathedral; Air Cadet and Sea Cadet Corps in Swindon; and amongst retired clergy in Chippenham and Swindon deaneries. He will be remembered fondly by countless people across the Diocese who have been supported and encouraged by his gentle and caring pastoral ministry.

The Rt Revd Neil Warwick, Bishop of Swindon, paid tribute to Trevor saying:

“Trevor was a person who shone with the grace of the Gospel. The joy of the Lord was his strength and a blessing to others. The legacy of his deep spirituality and enthusiasm for life will be treasured for years to come. May he rest in peace and rise in glory.”

We offer our condolences to Trevor’s family and friends and hold them in our prayers in this season of Lent. His funeral will take place at Christ Church Swindon on Thursday 19 March 2026 at 11am.
