The Bishops of Bristol and Swindon rejoice with sisters and brothers in Roman Catholic churches across our region upon the election of His Holiness Pope Leo XIV as the 267th Pope and Bishop of Rome.
They said: “We give thanks for his call to a Church that is rooted in the peace of Christ and is open to all. We are especially heartened by Pope Leo XIV’s emphasis on building bridges in a divided world, between peoples, communities, and churches.
"We invite Anglicans across the Diocese of Bristol to join us in prayer as Pope Leo XIV begins his ministry to Roman Catholics around the world and in the work of mission and evangelisation.”
