The Revd Steve Wilkinson was licensed as Priest with oversight of the Gauzebrook benefice, alongside his ongoing role as Rector of the Woodbridge Benefice. Steve was licensed by the Venerable Becky Waring, Archdeacon of Bristol, in St Mary’s Church, Hullavington, on 1st June 2025.

Before ordination, Steve spent 17 years in electronics project management with Philips, including time in the Netherlands. He’s been involved in church leadership since 1992 and was ordained in 2010 after training at Ridley Hall, Cambridge. He served in Corsham and later led the Woodbridge Group, training curates and fostering unity across six churches. Since 2021, he’s been Area Dean of North Wiltshire. A 2020 sabbatical visiting all 42 English cathedrals inspired the Athelstan Pilgrim Way, a network of walking and cycling pilgrimage routes in North Wiltshire, which he’s been developing since.
Steve said:
“I am honoured to have been invited by the Bishops to take on a time-limited role as Interim Priest in the Gauzebrook Group. This role will draw on my experience and good practice from the Woodbridge Group to support the churches of Gauzebrook as they discern their future direction and prepare to recruit their next incumbent.”
Please join us in praying for Steve, the churches of Gauzebrook, and all those discerning God’s path in this new season of ministry.
