First published 24th June 2023

We are delighted to announce that the Revd Phil Goodey has been appointed Vicar of Highworth with Sevenhampton and Inglesham, Hannington and Broad Blunsdon.

Phil is currently Vicar of St Peter’s and Junction Boughton Monchelsea in the Diocese of Canterbury. He is married to Sandra and they have two adult daughters, Megan and Esther, as well as two lovely grandsons.

Phil writes: ‘I have been in ordained ministry now for thirty two years working the length and breadth of the United Kingdom. Today I am even more passionate about growing the kingdom of God than I was all those years ago. I love telling stories about God and what he has done, to anyone who wants to listen. I am really looking forward to meeting everyone properly. ’

‘We will be joining you in person early in the Autumn, and we can’t wait. Please pray for us as we go through the complexities of packing up the house and saying goodbye to family and friends.’

Rt Revd Vivienne Faull, Bishop of Bristol writes,

“I am delighted that Phil will be joining the Diocese of Bristol at this exciting time. The Parish wrote in their profile that they were looking for someone whose community focus is based in Biblical teaching and prayer. I am confident that Phil fits this description and I look forward to all that he will bring.”
