Jacky Fredrickson will be commissioned as the new diocesan president for the Mothers’ Union in Bristol by the Bishop of Bristol, the Rt Revd Vivienne Faull, on Sunday 15 May at St Mary’s church, Yate.

Revd Joanne Hodge will lead the 4pm service, and anyone can come along to celebrate Jacky’s new role.

Jacky said: “I'm very privileged to be the new diocesan president for the Diocese of Bristol for the Mothers' Union […] and I'm full of enthusiasm and joy for this role and what the future brings.”

She added that the Mother’s Union has “transformed her life” and she hopes to see many other people transformed and changed, “into the people that God would have them be”, by the work of the union. In her role as president, Jacky also hopes to focus on developing and increasing support for MU branches and branch leaders.

Also present at the service will be Kathryn Anderson, Provincial President, Julia Jamieson, Worldwide Trustee for Canterbury Province, Revd Chris Dobson, MU Chaplain; and the Archdeacon of Malmesbury, the Venerable Christopher Bryan.

The Mothers' Union Prayer

Loving Lord,
We thank you for your love so freely given to us all. We pray for families around the world.
Bless the work of the Mothers' Union as we seek to share your love through the encouragement, strengthening and support of marriage and family life.
Empowered by your Spirit, may we be united in prayer and worship, and in love and service reach out as your hands across the world.
In Jesus' name.
Amen
