The Diocese of Bristol is delighted to announce that the Revd Kathy Prosser has been licensed as Associate Priest in benefice of Hanham and Kingswood.
Revd Kathy was licensed by the Ven Christopher Bryan, Archdeacon of Malmesbury, at Holy Trinity Kingswood, Sherston, on 20 October 2026.

For thirteen years, Revd Kathy has been exploring a call to ordained ministry. In the last six years she has completed a DipHE in Theology, Ministry and Mission alongside vocation training at Sarum College, Salisbury. Following this, Kathy completed a three years Curacy, initially based at Christ Church, Downend and latterly based in the Benefice of Hanham and Kingswood. During this time, Kathy has discerned a deepening call to serve Hanham and Kingswood Benefice, in particular continuing to develop a ministry and mission among children and families in the Kingswood parish, as well as presiding communion, serving through the offices of funerals, weddings and, baptisms, and extending ministry with community partners.
Ephesians 4:1b –6: Live a life worthy of the calling you have received. Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace. There is one body and one spirit, just as you were called to one hope when you were called – one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all
Kathy said:
“It is my belief that God is present in his world at all times and in all places, and that through Jesus we discover what it means to be fully restored to the wholeness of our humanity and relationship with God. We learn our dependence on one another to love, care and build compassionate community, which at core seeks justice for those who are undermined and marginalised. I hope to be a person of the humility, love and gentleness of Jesus, whose heart I believe seeks to heal and restore people and communities. I seek to be one who serves through love and patience. Obviously, I am not going to be able to sustain being such a priest without joining with team and others, to ensure we listen to God and follow the way of Jesus, guided and strengthened by the Holy Spirit. Please pray for me, my family and our Benefice as I step into this exciting and challenging call on my life. May we experience the surprises of a God who is all, over all, through all and in all.”
We give thanks for Kathy and pray for her flourishing as she serves and shares the love of God in the benefice of Hanham and Kingswood.
