Congratulations to the winners of 2025 Bristol DAC Awards

A huge thank you to everyone who attended our Bristol DAC Awards at St Paul’s Church, Chippenham with Rt Revd Neil Warwick, Bishop of Swindon, Canon Simon Pugh-Jones, Revd Becky Waring and Revd Adam Beaumont, and congratulations to winners!

Each year the Diocesan Advisory Committee (DAC) recognises a number of projects via its awards scheme. DAC Awards are made where a parish has completed a project to an exceptional standard of workmanship, or where a project has been key to that parish's growth and mission.

Guests started the evening with refreshments followed by a welcome from Canon Simon Pugh-Jones, DAC Chair, an introduction from Dr Chris Barnes, Church Buildings Officer and Secretary to the DAC, a talk from Joseph Davies, representative of Ecclesiastical (event sponsor), a talk from Rt Revd Neil Warwick, Bishop of Swindon and then the presentation of the awards by the Revd Adam Beaumont, Acting Archdeacon of Malmesbury.

Congratulations to the six parishes that received DAC Awards this year:

  • St Mary, Lydiard Tregoze who won the award for an interpretation board
  • St Thomas a Becket, Box who won the award for repairs to chest tombs
  • St Mary Magdalene, Tormarton who won the award for provision of hospitality and meeting space
  • St Mary, Bitton who won the award to internal reordering and cleaning and conservation works
  • St Mary the Virgin, Marshfield who won the award for the installation of electric chandelier and new ancillary heating system
  • St John Baptist, Colerne who won the award for installation of electrical heated pew seating

The event closed with a prayer from the Ven Becky Waring and we would like to thank the volunteers of St Paul’s Church who helped with the smooth running of the evening.
