On Sunday, 6 September, Christ Church Swindon will host the Church of England's national online service. The pre-recorded service will be broadcast on the CofE's social media channels as well as on YouTube and will include the special liturgy and prayers produced for the brand-new feast day.

The new festival is one of the fruits of a growing movement across churches worldwide and offers an opportunity for Christians to give thanks for God's creation and redemption of the world, reflect on humanity's responsibility to care for the natural world and pray for its renewal.
Christ Church Swindon was chosen to host the service because of their commitment to environmental causes and creation care. In 2025, the Church was awarded an A Rocha Eco Church Gold Award for their commitment and action to protect the environment. This made them the third congregation in the Diocese of Bristol, alongside Hazelnut Community Farm and St Peter’s Henleaze, to receive the award.
The church also has a passionate Eco Church group, who recently contributed to the 'Swindon Churches Green Festival' and hosted a showing of the Peoples Emergency Briefing. In addition to this, the Church has a Churchyard which has been relatively undisturbed for over 150 years and provides a rich diversity of grasses, flowers, birds and animals.
The service will go live on the Church of England's YouTube channel on 6 September.
