The Diocese of Bristol is pleased to share that the Revd Brutus Green has been licensed as Vicar of St Mary Redcliffe with Temple Bristol and St John the Baptist Bedminster.
Revd Brutus was licensed by the Rt Revd Neil Warwick, Acting Bishop of Bristol and Bishop of Swindon, at St Mary Redcliffe, on Tuesday, 3 February.

Brutus was ordained at St Paul’s Cathedral in the Diocese of London after completing theology degrees at Exeter and Cambridge up to PhD and training for ministry at Westcott House. After his curacy, he continued on as associate minister at St John’s, Hyde Park before being commissioned as a British Army chaplain, serving in Germany and Colchester, where he completed ‘P Company’ and parachute training serving, with 2PARA, and finally the Army Training Regiment in Pirbright. He then returned to parish ministry for a little over seven years as vicar of St Margaret’s, Putney in Southwark Diocese, before his licensing to St Mary Redcliffe. He has co-authored a book of essays, Generous Ecclesiology, been an associate editor with Theology and written several articles, chapters and reviews. He has also taught at Exeter University and several theological training colleges.

I am praying for the grace required to help me carry out this great calling and can’t wait to meet all the people in this vibrant, challenging and dynamic community."
