Applications for the Choral Evensong Trust’s 2026 Patronal Festival grants are now open. The grants help Anglican parish churches across the UK celebrate their patronal festival — the feast day of their patron saint — with a service of choral evensong and a community reception.

Why Apply?
Several Churches have found that hosting choral evensong services, along with an evening reception, has brought new people into their communities.
Last year, the Choral Evensong Trust received 87 applications and many parishes fed back that the grant provided a catalyst to revive or start a new tradition of music and community worship, linking the local congregation with wider cultural and spiritual engagement.
What’s Offered
The Trust provides two tiers of support:
Full Patronal Festival Grant (£500): For parishes inviting a visiting choir to sing choral evensong, followed by a reception and optional activities such as bell ringing, flower displays, or local pilgrimage.
Patronal Festivities Grant (£250): For parishes whose own choir will sing the evensong, with a reception and other celebrations.
Eligibility
Grants are for parishes where patronal festivals and choral evensong are not already a regular tradition.
Parishes funded in 2025 cannot reapply in 2026 to ensure ensuring new communities benefit from the Trust’s work.
How to Apply
Applications must be completed by 2 February 2026 and more information, along with the application form, can be found by clicking the button below.
