Airbus Supports Poppy Campaign

A special service of dedication was held at Airbus at Filton, led by Revd Canons Elspeth Desmond and Brian Arman from St Peters Church in Filton.

The service included planting the poppy seeds, a blessing, and a moment of silence for remembrance as well as acknowledging the future of peace and united nations. The bells were rung at the church to mark the occasion by current and former aerospace employees from the local area.A significant number of Airbus employees are armed forces veterans.

Airbus in Filton is supporting the Royal British Legion campaign to mark the centenary of the beginning of the First World War later this year by selling Flanders poppy seeds to staff on the site.

The aim is to is to cover the UK with poppies during the centenary period in commemoration of all those who lost their lives in the First World War.
