Rhythm of Life ll - November

Music for the soul

“Music for worship is not music for the concert hall. Music’s focus is participation in worship, not performance for worship. At its best, music encourages transcendence in worship, it enables communion with the living God. This month, we will sample a series of different worship music styles in an effort to help your worship of God to deepen."

Welcome to your tasters for November.

Music has always been an important way for people to express worship and to connect with our living God. It often expresses praise, prayer and theological truths in ways that engage both heart and mind. Worship can unite us in a shared experience of Christ drawing us closer to him.

So, time to begin.

Going Deeper - a month enriched with music and song:

Throughout this month you are invited to explore music from a variety of musical traditions, old and new. Allow God to speak to you through both familiar and unfamiliar worship. Each week there are carefully selected songs for you to spend time with reflecting on your responses to each. :

Worship and praying with music

Doing - Get stuck in

In this section you can download simple, clear instructions on how to get started:

Praying with the Psalms

Watching - Learning from others

We've asked people to try out some of practices to share their experiences of how they have helped them to connect with God in new ways:

Eliana Pretorian started her theological training at Wycliffe Hall, Oxford in October 2025. She is a classically trained opera singer who has performed all over the world. Over the last five years God has challenged her to begin to view her singing as an act of worship and praise, rather than it being about her performance and skills. She shares how growing up in communist Romania sung worship bound the community together in God and sings a Romanian 'Our Father.'
