Personal Assistant to the Incumbent (Part time)

Hours of work:   5.5 hours per week

Location:   St Peter’s Church, Penhill, Swindon

Terms:     £30,000 per annum FTE (£4,400 actual)

    Fixed term contract, terminating on 31st December 2028

Purpose of role:    To support the incumbent of St Peter’s Church in the administration of the parish, as well as in the roles of supporting and discipling members of the parish.

Duties will include ensuring the functions of the church office run smoothly, supporting the Incumbent in all matter pertaining to ministry, (including training, development and discipling of members of the congregation and basic pastoral care and prayer support), providing basic computer support, arranging church maintenance, recruitment support (including DBS checks), financial and parish reports for the PCC and collating and reporting as necessary to the local Priority Communities Team who are providing the funding for this work. 

The successful applicant will ideally be an experienced Administrator with excellent attention to detail and the ability to provide organisational and administrative support to the incumbent as well as supporting others involved in church activities.

They must be a good team player as well as being able to work using their own initiative.  Other essential requirements are excellent communication and Microsoft office skills, including Word and Excel, as is the ability to provide basic IT support others.  They will be self-motivated, well organised, able to multi task and to work to deadlines.
