Energy Footprint Tool

To achieve Net Zero by 2030, it is essential to track progress by measuring energy usage across our churches. The Energy Footprint Tool (EFT) plays a vital role in this process. Most churches’ carbon emissions stem from the energy used to heat their buildings, primarily from electricity, gas or oil. By gathering data through the EFT, we can calculate not only the emissions for each individual church but also track progress across the diocese as a whole, providing a clear indicator of how we are moving toward net zero.

Last year, 87% of churches in the Diocese of Bristol completed the EFT, and we are striving to increase participation this year. Every submission makes a difference, offering valuable insights and helping us identify areas where we can reduce energy consumption and carbon emissions. While filling out the EFT may initially feel like a daunting task, we’ve created an easy-to-follow guide to show how straightforward the process can be. Together, with accurate data and collective action, we can make meaningful progress toward our 2030 net zero target.
