What is parish development for?
The goal of Parish Development is to come alongside a church, parish or benefice to offer bespoke support to clergy and lay members to offer a fresh perspective on what health and sustainability might look like in their context, setting or tradition.
What can we expect from parish development?
Support given includes:
- defining values and what matters to the church
- encouraging a missional church culture
- identifying a sense of call and charism
- helping the church think missionally
- clarifying and communicating vision
- equipping for community engagement
- recommending appropriate resources
- defining priorities for the future
- developing health and sustainability plans
- signposting to training or other Diocesan resources outside the scope of parish development.
