Do you need a Faculty?
Summer is one of the busiest seasons for the Parish Buildings and Planning team and the Diocesan Advisory Committee (DAC). Sunny weather is perfect to carry out external works to church buildings as well as the churchyards.
The majority of church buildings, their contents and grounds are protected by Faculty Jurisdiction. Under this legislation, any repair, alteration, extension, disposal or addition needs to receive approval. This is granted by the Chancellor of the Diocese of Bristol or in some cases by the appropriate Archdeacon (via List B authorisation).
