Rector of Fromeside

Rector of Fromeside Benefice

Full‑time • South Gloucestershire, on the outskirts of Bristol

The Fromeside Benefice is entering an exciting new chapter. Our five parishes are praying for a Rector who will help us grow in faith, deepen our discipleship, and strengthen our presence in the communities we serve. Informal consultation has begun on a proposal to join Frenchay parish with the Fromeside Benefice, with an accompanying increase in ministerial allocation.

We are looking for a priest who is rooted in prayer, confident in leadership, and joyful in working collaboratively across a multi‑church context. Someone who can honour what is cherished while helping us imagine what is possible. Someone who is at ease with people of all ages and backgrounds, communicates faith with clarity and warmth, and is energised by mission, community engagement, and creative approaches to ministry.

If you are a priest who leads with humility, vision, and hope, we would love to meet you.

We are seeking a Rector who:

  • Is prayerful, approachable, and able to relate well across generations and backgrounds.
  • Leads worship confidently across a range of traditions, from Anglo‑Catholic to middle‑of‑the‑road.
  • Preaches and teaches in ways that are rooted, accessible, and inspiring.
  • Brings strategic vision and the ability to guide us into new opportunities for mission and growth.
  • Works collaboratively with ordained colleagues, PCCs, lay officers, ministers, and volunteers, enabling others’ gifts.
  • Is committed to “boots on the ground” engagement with schools, families, new housing areas, and the wider community.
  • Can build bridges between church and community, helping us grow in faith, welcome, and number.
  • Is organised, a good communicator, and able to coordinate ministry across several churches with clarity and care.
  • Brings creativity and openness to new approaches, including digital communication and community‑based ministry.

We offer:

  • Warm, supportive congregations with a genuine desire to grow.
  • A Benefice rich in tradition, diversity, and opportunity.
  • Strong lay leadership and committed volunteers.
  • A Rectory in a beautiful and well‑connected part of South Gloucestershire.
  • Space to lead, imagine, and shape the next chapter of our shared life.

If this sounds like a ministry in which you could flourish — and help us flourish — we would be delighted to hear from you.
