The Church of England’s resources for Lent 2026 have at their heart the theme of a ‘Rhythm of Life’ with a focus on habits and patterns that help us grow in faith each day.
Draw Near provides material for daily individual reflections and focuses on 6 Christian practices that help us to grow in Christ.
Each week
there is a different theme Sharing in: Worship; Prayer; Scriptures; Service; Good News; Holy Week. Each day there will be a bible passage with accompanying reflection and prayer.
The daily reflections will also be available on the Everyday Faith App. The material complements the Archbishop’s Lent Book Dancing to the Heartbeat of God which is full of stories of discipleship from across the Anglican Communion.
Draw Near for families and children runs alongside the other materials and is a 40-day generosity challenge together with a special biblical reflection and prayer for families to use together.
Diocese of Bristol Rhythm of Life and Draw Near
To enable churches to engage in the national Lent Course we have paused our monthly Zoom tasters for the Diocesan Rhythm of Life materials and will restart them after Easter so that people can continue the journey of exploration after Lent has ended.
If you choose to join in with ‘Draw Near’ you will find videos and handouts on Diocesan Rhythm of Life pages which will complement the themes in ‘Draw Near’.
Two ways to use our Diocesan resources for Small Groups:
- Help people explore different prayer practices through Lent using one of the monthly resources each week. Alternatively pick one of the monthly themes and follow the 4-week guide in small groups through Lent.
- On the resources for parishes page you will find under Workshop option 2 a series of discussion sheets that can be used as the basis for small groups.
