With support from Let’s Go Zero, Central Park Primary reduced its carbon footprint by 16% while also addressing the risks of extreme heat.
A Climate Action Advisor helped the school understand overheating across the site and develop a heatwave policy. Funding was secured for tree planting, and low-cost measures such as solar film were introduced to reduce classroom temperatures. The school has also worked with partners to install 171 solar panels, reducing energy costs, with further improvements planned.
“Let’s Go Zero gave me the structure and momentum I needed. Doing an audit and writing it down made a huge difference. Our Climate Action Advisor brought it all together - ideas, funding support, and real guidance.”
