Suzi is a Licensed Lay Minister (LLM) serving in the Upper Thames Benefice, and her story is one of creativity, compassion, and faithful presence.
Suzi’s ministry bridges generations and life experiences. Each week, she leads assemblies at her local church primary school with her Open the Book team, bringing Bible stories to life in ways that are fun, engaging, and deeply meaningful for children.
"The children always enjoy us coming in and love helping us when we need some 'extras' for the story. It is a fun way to share Bible stories and our faith with them."
Alongside her work with children, Suzi also ministers to those navigating grief. With a background in funeral direction, she brings empathy and experience to families preparing to say goodbye to loved ones.
"I spent 10 years as a Funeral Director before my licensing, and so I am comfortable talking to people about their grief and helping them to create a suitable way of celebrating their loved one’s final service."
Suzi’s story reminds us that lay ministry is about showing up - whether in a school hall or a quiet living room - and offering the love of Christ with gentleness and grace.
