Day two: Meet Anita Dobson

Anita DobsonAnita sees lay ministry as something rooted in everyday life and helping people to discover God’s presence in the ordinary.

“To me, lay ministry is about being alongside people, ministering from within the body of Christ, setting a good example, and playing my part in building God’s kingdom wherever I am.”

For Anita, that looks like preaching on Sundays and helping people connect Scripture to real-life challenges, from a tricky meeting on Monday to a tantrum-prone toddler on Friday. It also means creating prayer spaces, waving a mouse puppet at toddler group, writing songs that encourage faith, and preparing material for life groups.

“My passion is that everyone discovers the unique mission God has called them to, so they can make a difference wherever they are.”

Anita’s story reminds us that ministry isn’t confined to church walls, but woven through the rhythms of daily life when we choose to live out our faith.
