Day ten: Meet James Davies-Spratt

Kate DavisonJames was licensed as a LLM this year, and is using his training to further his mission of supporting people struggling with their mental health.

“What drew me to being a Licensed Lay Minister was to help the lonely, the lost, people who are struggling."

Since returning to faith, James has learned that truly listening to others begins with trusting ourselves. His LLM training has given him strong foundations for listening well and responding with care.

James has also launched a group called ‘A Way Together’, where people ground themselves in Jesus, explore scripture, and share life together.

"There is hope. I was hopeless, but I found Jesus again, and things started getting better."

Christmas can be a challenging time for many. James encourages us all to take five minutes to listen deeply to someone—it’s something every one of us can do.

Blue Christmas services are taking place across the Diocese, offering space for those who find this season difficult. Visit A Church Near You to find services near you.

Your support helps people like James step into their calling.
