Day sixteen: Meet Becky Morrey

Becky MorreyBecky’s Licensed Lay Ministry works hand in hand with her role as Youth Minister. From the start, she felt God’s call to share Jesus with young people and help them see themselves as God does.

“I have always felt called to share Jesus with young people and to help them see themselves as God does.”

For Becky, youth ministry is about more than running a group - it’s about building bridges. She knows that faith grows best when young people are supported by a wider net: being engaged in church life and having open conversations about faith with friends and family. That’s where her lay ministry comes in, connecting younger and older members of the church community.

Whether it was dressing up as a unicorn at a Light Party, taking a lesson in a secondary school, preaching in church, or providing an unending supply of biscuits, Becky’s heart was always the same.

"At the heart of it all is a desire to help young people encounter the God who loves them. I feel privileged that God allows me to join in with what He is doing in their lives."

Her story reminds us that ministry is about creating spaces where faith can flourish across generations and in everyday moments.
