John’s faithful ministry has spanned continents and seasons of life.
"For a few years, my wife and I lived in South Sudan where I was licensed as a Lay Reader in 2009, before returning to England where I continue to serve as a Lay Minister."
Today, John’s ministry is rooted in community and care. He and his wife are regular visitors to a local care home.
"We gather residents together to sing a selection of well-known hymns and I give a short talk midway through."
They are also deeply involved in a retirement village, leading a fortnightly Bible study group and services twice a month. At church, John heads up the Mission Support Hub and serves on various committees - a role that reflects his commitment to mission and discipleship.
John’s story reminds us that ministry is about presence, showing up in homes, care settings, and communities with the love of Christ.
