Janet was licensed as an LLM at age 76, proving it’s never too late to follow God’s call.
"My sense of calling began back in 1962. I remember hearing on the radio that the Church of England was considering a conversation about ordaining women. I thought, that’s what I want to do. But at that time, I could see no way to pursue it. So, I asked myself, how else can I care for others?"
She began working as a school matron, got married and it was only several years after he died that she asked herself, ‘who do I want to be?’, leading her to the Exploring Christianity course and subsequently, her licensing as an LLM.
Janet’s ministry spans denominations and communities, offering wisdom and warmth wherever she goes.
"My ministry isn’t confined to one place. While I support St Stephen’s, I also work with Churches Together in Southmead and have led and spoken at the United Reformed Church and Westbury-on-Trym Methodist."
