Safeguarding training

In December 2015 the House of Bishops approved the “Safeguarding Learning and Development Framework”. All parishes and dioceses are now required to deliver and attend training as per the framework.

The Diocesan Safeguarding Training Plan 2016 can be accessed here: Safeguarding Training Plan 2016

Further information about training that the Safeguarding Team offer is available through the Training Page of the Diocesan website. The Safeguarding Training Brochure outlines which levels of Safeguarding training are mandatory for each role for clergy, LLMs, parish officers and those working with children and vulnerable adults. All courses referred to there, with the exception of C1 Foundation Safeguarding and Online Basic Safeguarding Awareness, can be booked through that page.

Online Basic Safeguarding Awareness
The Diocese of Bristol has commissioned two online safeguarding training modules. One focused on safeguarding vulnerable adults and the other on safeguarding children and young people. In order to log into the training you will need your Parish Code. This is available from your Parish Safeguarding Officer, or if they are not able to provide it please contact Safeguarding Team at the Diocesan Office. The links below provide access to the course and guidance for logging in and registering for the course.

It is organised by and delivered in individual parishes with the Diocesan Safeguarding team providing a Volunteer Training to run the session.
If you would like to book an C1 Course for your own parish, please download the booking form here and return it to safeguarding@bristoldiocese.org
