We don’t want you to do business as usual.

This is an exciting time for us, as the North Wiltshire Mission Area (NWMA) comes into being. We are looking for someone to come and partner with us in growing our evangelism and discipleship. Under the leadership of the Vicar of Malmesbury and Upper Avon (Lead Incumbent for the Mission area) you will:

    • Partner with the other five incumbents in the mission area and their congregations, to discern the direction of travel and help bring some of the ideas that the Holy Spirit is already sowing among us to fruition
    • Lead the existing 4pm congregation at Malmesbury Abbey, helping to equip and strengthen it in mission and discipleship, and take responsibility for home groups
    • Be a role model for faith-sharing and evangelism, and help to equip us all to be more confident in telling our stories and sharing the good news of Jesus Christ with our communities

This is a challenging role with huge possibilities. It will need a candidate with the proven ability to help shape and communicate a shared vision, and with a personal passion and resolve to encourage and enable others in evangelism and discipleship, and to partner with them to pioneer new ministries and grow new communities of disciples.

We welcome applications from all sections of the community, particularly from underrepresented groups, including members of our black and minority ethnic (BAME) communities.

Closing date: midday 20 June 2019

Familiarisation and Interviews: 17 and 18 July 2019

If you are considering applying for this exciting opportunity please contact: Revd Oliver Ross, Vicar or Malmesbury and Upper Avonvicar@malmesburyabbey.com 01666 826666 for an informal conversation.
