Serious Incident Reporting

All PCCs, DBFs and most Religious Communities are charities and their trustees are required to report any Serious Incidents, both safeguarding and non-safeguarding, to the Charity Commission.

New guidance has been issued by the Charity Commission in October 2018 regarding the requirement to report any serious incident, be it related to safeguarding or a non-safeguarding related issue (eg financial misconduct). In response to the new Charity Commission guidance, the Church of England has issued bespoke guidance for PCCs and other church bodies.
