North Wiltshire Team visiting Kigezi Diocese

First published 4th June 2013
On Tuesday 4th June 6 members of North Wiltshire Deanery depart for Uganda for a two week visit to the Diocese of Kigezi.

Led by Shirley Danby the link co-ordinator the team includes, Brian Danby (Cricklade), Peter and Linda Tuck (Ashton Keynes) and Philip Daniels and Miriam Walker (Hullavington, Norton and Stanton St Quintin).

They will be joined at the weekend by the head teacher of Ashton Keynes Church of England Primary School, Kathryn Nicholas and her colleague, Katy Thomas. Kathryn and Katy will be primarily based at Kabale Primary School discussing how they can build up the newly started schools link.

The rest of the team will visit key areas of the diocese, including the Tear Fund water project partnered with Malmesbury Abbey and Rwancerere parish which has received support from Cricklade in the past. While there they will be meeting with key members of the Diocese of Kigezi to discern how the link might be developed in the years to come.

This trip marks a new beginning for the North Wiltshire Uganda link after a number of fallow years and we hope it will be the first of a number of visits in each direction.
