Rev Alison LOVE, ordained a priest serving in the Benefice and Parish of St Peter, Chippenham.
This has been a challenging year. There have been many transforming moments, many surprises, much hard work, despair and joy. Through it all I have been supported and nurtured by my amazing family and friends and by the wonderful people of St Peter’s.
I have also been continually inspired by the powerful words of Isaiah 43.1 -3 “Do not fear, for I have redeemed you: I have called you by name and you are mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and the rivers; they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through the fire you will not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you. For I am the Lord your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Saviour.”
The Bible tells us that God calls unlikely people to serve him and the fact that he has persistently called me I still find very surprising. So I come today with a heart overwhelmed with joy. I come just as I am, looking forward to the future and in the prayerful hope that “I can do all this through him who gives me strength.” Philippians 4.13
