Paul Hunter

Rev Paul HUNTER, ordained a priest serving in the Benefice and Parish of St Christopher, Brislington.

Within days of being ordained Deacon last year, Mum was taken to hospital seriously ill. She died in November after terrible suffering. The family then had the complications of the funeral, the will and the disposal of all her effects to deal with. We buried her ashes on Maundy Thursday.

So Mum has been a major thread through my Deacon year, yet I find that in the sorrow of bereavement God has given so much joy.

I have really enjoyed my year as a Deacon at St Christopher’s. Highlights have been the baptisms, the development of small groups in church, and the creation of a new strategy for our vacancy. The support and love of the people at church has been fundamental in my learning process this year. I am so looking forward to discovering what God has for me in the next stage of my ministry.
