Andrew Doarks

Rev Andrew DOARKS, ordained a priest serving in the Benefice and Parish of St Luke, Brislington.

St Luke’s congregation is confidently Ancient and Modern. It is remarkable that for such a stable community as Brislington I have been embraced as one of them so quickly. I have received as a gift all manner of traditional Anglican practices that were previously unknown to me. The different services and preaching plan have brought deep and fresh richness to the scriptures that I love.

I have had to come to terms with being caught up in the drama as both director and actor, praying and worshipping whilst making notes on style, content, projection, etc. The support and encouragement offered to me has remained constant and frequent even when mistaking lecturn bookmarks for a stole!

It is the variety of this role that ensures it remains a privilege and a joy. I pray that I retain a keen sense of unworthiness and willingness to serve God in the tasks to which He calls me.

  1. Andrew My dear brother and friend, congralutions! When I read your mail and look more closerly at your photos, I remember witth passion the time I was priested. I continue to pray with you as you enter the House of clergy. One thing am sure is that you have entered a place of opportunity, privelege, and challenge to serve the Lord.May God who calls us continue to stand with you in this new assignment.

Secondly, I pray that you find meaning and hope whenever you will find challenges in the ministry, that you find favour with God and see God’s Hand leading you throughout your time in Ministry. Last sunday I was praying with you and am sure God has called you my brother. As you pray, pray for me.
    Fare you well.
