I think your April email was absolutely spot on. What you say has been my view for along time. Even after a great sermon by Neill we still don’t speak directly about God. It seems that He is not felt to be a reality. Hopefully this will now begin to change.
Can we please expect to see parishes encouraged to insert a summary of the new Diocesan Strategy in their magazines. It is the sort of article which is badly needed.
I agree with your comments. I hate seeing people humiliated and their dreams shattered, especially on TV and I don’t watch these types of programme because of that. I know we must all learn to lose graciously. As you say, God rewards people who, in the world’s eyes are often ‘loser’s’, but who have the humility to serve Him and others anyway.
Perhaps we need to teach these scriptures and ideas of how to do it from the pulpit more?
I’ve heard good comments from some people about you doing some of these things by the way, so be encouraged. I’m challenged by this to do more myself, although I’m not sure if people would want me to phone every day. I tend to chat a lot!Cooking I can do though. Thanks for the challenge. By the way, have you seen Soul Survivor’s emails/website on challenges to do Random Acts of Kindness on Fridays! Very interesting thoughts and results.
why are we being treated like morons? surely it is easy enough for people to be allowed to dip wafer into wine? Certainly the Catholic Churches do this. All you need is someone standing next to the Priest holding the Chalice and the Priest can dip and give. Easy
Happens like this in all African countries I have been to and there is far more danger from infection in those countries.
The problem with the Church of England is that the people are treated like babies unable to think for themselves

Thank you SO much for this facility. I’ts really difficult and time consuming to find places that will fund projects.

I think the guidelines are there for the people running round like headless chickens.
Everyone else (who realise we get more annual deaths from toppling pianos…) can just carry on as they were!
