Our organisationThe Diocese of Bristol is not only the people, churches and schools that make it up, but also an organisation that supports those communities and governs the Diocese.
The Diocese recruits, trains, supports and develops, pays and houses clergy. It provides support services to parishes and schools and governance support to the Diocese. It has a charitable company, the Bristol Diocesan Board of Finance Ltd (BDBF), which receives 70% of its £7.2m budget from our parish churches giving.
The Diocesan Synod governs the life of the Diocese and Diocesan Secretary, Mr Oliver Home, is the chief officer of the BDBF, leading those support services. The Diocese of Bristol is part of and partners with the Church of England nationally.
