- Introduction
- Where do we
start?
In this first section we have collected together some of the building
blocks, which will help inform parishes as you look again at the ways
in which you aim to make your children and youth work safe and secure.
- Safe
Recruiting
The safe care and nurture of our children and young people is essential
in all we do and plan and we need to ensure that the recruitment
procedure for employees and volunteers is as secure as we can make it.
It is important, therefore, that all Parochial Church Councils (PCCs)
develop and approve a recruitment procedure and that the operation of
the procedure is monitored by the PCC.
- Good
Practice Guidelines
It is the responsibility of the incumbent and Parochial Church Council
(PCC), and the duty of every individual within the church, to provide
safe care and nurture for our children and young people.
- Child
Abuse: Identification & responses
The aim of this section is to provide relevant and updated information
to those working with children and young people in our church
communities. It will help volunteers to be more alert to indicators of
child abuse and to respond in a way that will protect the child.
